This WUAV is under silicon synapsis lab which is headed by Prof. Dr. Aliraze Ramzani.I have been working under the professor for well over 8 months now.
The Aerobat is inspired by bat morphology and weights only 70 grams with onboard camera and IMU.
I have Worked on development of Aerobat from design to its flight control in a working prototype while simulating in gazebo and also Established a computer vision RTOS for depth detection and obstacle avoidance in low latency using RGB-D camera. The created CV System runs on deep neural network trained in PyTorch for 60% accuracy, based on open-source algorithm mono depth
I have also Created a robust sensor calibration routine for stability of WUAV launcher and camera calibration which reduced testing time by 10%.
the data disclosed here and on website is in a phase I, as the latest research is still not published online so for additional info you can head to the silicon synapsis website.
Below you can see the aerobat test of flapping wings and details :
the future scope of research is Onboard image processing, perception or offboard perception and navigation in a complex environment like a tunnel.
